Amethyst Geode Half With Blue Agate - 8.0 x 5.2 inch

Dense violet points rising between deep blue walls
$84.95

Product Description

Dense violet crystal rises the full height of the cavity in this Amethyst Geode Half, set between deep blue Banded Agate walls that narrow toward the top and give the opening an elongated, arched profile. The Amethyst is well grown and closely packed, the points catching light along the length of the opening rather than in a single concentrated pocket. The agate walls are polished smooth and read almost black at the outer edge before lightening through blue and grey toward the crystal boundary. Cut flat at the base, it is the tallest piece in this group and stands markedly upright.

Amethyst is traditionally associated with intuition, spiritual awareness, and settling the mind, and tall arched pieces have long been favoured for that upright, architectural presence. This one is suited to a floor-level plinth, a hearth, or a shelf with genuine clearance above it, where the full height of the opening stays visible. Stones of this scale are usually the anchor of an arrangement rather than one item within it, and are commonly acquired as a single considered purchase for a particular room.

Geological Information
Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz, silicon dioxide, Mohs 7, crystallising in the trigonal system as prismatic hexagonal crystals that line geodes and vugs. Its colour comes from iron impurities together with natural irradiation within the lattice. The enclosing shell is Banded Agate, a chalcedony of the same family and hardness, formed in successive silica depositions that lined the cavity before crystal growth began; the arched profile of the opening follows the shape the agate left behind. This material is commonly sold under the trade name Blue Agate: natural grey-white Banded Agate treated with dye to produce its vivid blue colour. Agate does not occur naturally in this saturated a blue, and dyeing is standard, disclosed practice for this material throughout the trade. Amethyst carries a documented history stretching from the Ancient Greek amethystos, meaning not drunk, through Roman adornment to its later use in European ecclesiastical work, where purple signalled spiritual authority. Zambian material is noted for exceptional clarity and a distinctive blue-violet secondary hue, while Brazilian deposits such as this piece's source supply the majority of large geode material; other commercial origins include Uruguay, Madagascar, Russia, South Korea, and Canada.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.

Care Note
Amethyst fades with prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Display the piece away from a sunlit window, and lift it from the base rather than by the crystal points.
