Product Description

Deep indigo and near-black banding wraps the full outer edge of this Amethyst Geode Half, each layer following the contour of the one beneath it down to a bright crystal pocket at the centre. The Banded Agate rind is polished to a hard gloss that holds the band lines sharply, while the inner cavity stays raw, filled with fine violet and white Amethyst points that break the light differently from the smooth stone around them. The contrast between the two surfaces is the defining feature of the piece. It stands tall on a cut flat base with the crystal opening facing forward.

Amethyst is traditionally associated with intuition, spiritual awareness, and settling an unquiet mind, and a standing piece of this height is usually treated as a fixed presence in a room rather than something handled. It suits a mantel, console, or shelf at or above eye level, where the depth of the cavity stays readable from across the space. Traditional practice places stones of this kind at the centre of a room or a working surface, and pieces of this scale are commonly bought as a single significant addition rather than as part of a set.

Geological Information
Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz, silicon dioxide at Mohs 7 in the trigonal system, coloured by iron impurities and natural irradiation within the lattice. The banded outer shell is Banded Agate, a chalcedony variety of the same quartz family and the same hardness, formed as silica-rich hydrothermal fluids filled a cavity in the host rock and deposited in successive layers, each band recording a separate deposition event. The Amethyst crystallised last, growing inward from the finished agate wall into the remaining open space, which is why a single cut face shows the full sequence from outer rind to crystal tip. This material is commonly sold under the trade name Blue Agate: natural grey-white Banded Agate treated with dye to produce its vivid blue colour. Agate does not occur naturally in this saturated a blue, and dyeing is standard, disclosed practice for this material throughout the trade. Amethyst is sourced commercially from Brazil, Uruguay, Zambia, Madagascar, Russia, South Korea, and Canada, and this piece originates in Brazil.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.

Care Note
Amethyst fades with prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Display the piece away from a sunlit window, and lift it from the base rather than by the crystal points.
