Blue Agate Geode Half - 7.6 x 4.9 inch
Product Description
Tall and narrow, this Blue Agate Geode Half rises through deep blue banding to a pale interior that runs almost the full height of the piece as a single continuous column. The layers hug the sides closely, leaving the centre open from base to apex rather than closing into a pocket, and a green-gold rind clings to the outer edge in patches. The height and the vertical opening give the piece an emphatic upward line. The polish is even across the cut face and the base is cut flat.
Banded Agate is traditionally linked with balance and harmony, and secondarily with grounding and protection. Tall pieces are normally given a position where the full height stays visible, against a plain wall, in a corner, or at the end of a shelf with clearance above. Agate has long been placed near thresholds in traditional practice, and the strong vertical form here suits an entry table or hall console particularly well.

Geological Information
Banded Agate is microcrystalline quartz, silicon dioxide at Mohs 7, deposited in cyclic silica layers within a cavity in host rock. An elongated vertical cavity of this kind forms where the original gas vesicle was stretched during lava flow before the rock solidified, and the agate layers simply followed that outline inward as they accumulated, preserving the elongation at progressively smaller scale. Because the void narrowed evenly along its length rather than toward a single point, the residual open space runs as a column rather than closing into a pocket. The green-gold rind is residual host basalt with iron staining at the surface. Agate is a banded variety of chalcedony within the quartz family, formed through successive layers of silica deposited within a cavity over time. It is common industry practice for coloured agate to be dyed or otherwise colour-enhanced to achieve vivid, saturated tones. Agate is recovered globally from Brazil, India, the USA, Mexico and Germany, with this piece from Brazil.
AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
