Product Description

A solid black outer edge frames this Blue Agate Geode Half, dropping quickly into pale blue and cream layers that close around a cream-white crystal centre. A small dark recess sits within that centre where the cavity did not fully fill, adding a point of depth to an otherwise flat-reading face. The banding is moderate in width and consistent all the way round, with none of the asymmetry seen elsewhere in this group. The polish is even, the back left rough, and the piece stands squarely on a flat cut base.

Banded Agate is traditionally linked with balance, harmony, and a steadying, grounding character. Well-proportioned pieces of this kind are among the most straightforward to place, sitting comfortably on a desk, shelf, side table or mantel without needing a particular position to work. Agate is generally kept in daily-use rooms rather than dedicated practice spaces, and this one groups easily alongside other specimens or stands on its own.

Geological Information
Banded Agate is microcrystalline quartz, silicon dioxide at Mohs 7, a chalcedony variety and the foundational agate form, deposited in successive silica layers within a cavity in host rock. Consistent band width and even colour progression around the full circumference, as on this piece, indicate a cavity that was close to spherical and a fluid supply that reached every part of the wall at a comparable rate, which is the least common of the several ways a geode can fill. The small unfilled recess at the centre marks the point where deposition finally ceased. Agate is a banded variety of chalcedony within the quartz family, formed through successive layers of silica deposited within a cavity over time. It is common industry practice for coloured agate to be dyed or otherwise colour-enhanced to achieve vivid, saturated tones. Agate is one of the most widely distributed minerals on Earth and among the oldest documented gemstones in continuous human use. Commercial material comes from Brazil, India, the USA, Mexico and historically Germany, with this piece sourced from Brazil.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
