Blue Agate Slab - 6.2 x 7.0 inch

Long arcs running high on one side, gold at the turn
$64.95

Product Description

Wide sweeping bands of navy and soft white curve across the face of this Blue Agate Slab in long asymmetric arcs, rising higher on one side than the other so the pattern reads as movement rather than symmetry. A warm golden-yellow deposit sits low at the centre where the layers converge, small but saturated enough to hold the eye against the surrounding cool tones. The banding is broad and confidently drawn, with each layer clearly distinguishable. The base is cut flat and the piece stands slightly wider than tall.

Banded Agate is traditionally linked with balance and harmony, and secondarily with grounding and protection. Pieces with a strong directional pattern are often positioned so the sweep runs with the line of a shelf or mantel rather than against it, which makes placement slightly more considered than for a symmetrical specimen. Agate has long been kept in shared living spaces, and this one suits a mantel, sideboard, or wide shelf where its full span is visible.

Geological Information
Banded Agate is silicon dioxide in its microcrystalline chalcedony form, Mohs 7, deposited in successive silica layers within a cavity in host rock. Asymmetric banding of this kind develops where the geode sat at an angle during filling, so that gravity drew the depositing fluid preferentially toward one side and built thicker layers there than on the opposite wall. Reading the direction of that thickening indicates how the piece was oriented while it formed, information that is lost once a geode is removed from its host and cut. The golden deposit at the convergence point is late-stage iron oxide. Agate is a banded variety of chalcedony within the quartz family, formed through successive layers of silica deposited within a cavity over time. It is common industry practice for coloured agate to be dyed or otherwise colour-enhanced to achieve vivid, saturated tones. Agate is among the most globally distributed minerals, with sources including Brazil, India, the USA, Mexico and Germany. This piece originates in Brazil.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
