Blue Agate Geode Half - 5.9 x 6.4 inch

Deep blue rings closing around a warm cream centre
$72.95

Product Description

Deep blue rings close steadily around a warm cream centre on this Blue Agate Geode Half, the banding running darkest at the outer edge and lightening through mid-blue and pale grey before reaching the softer, more diffuse core. Unlike the sharply ridged specimens in this group, the layers here blur gently into one another, giving the face a worn, weathered quality. A small open pocket sits at the middle where the final layer did not close completely. It stands on a flat cut base, marginally wider than it is tall.

Banded Agate is traditionally linked with balance, harmony, and a grounding steadiness. Pieces with a softer, less sharply defined pattern are often chosen where a quieter presence is wanted, and this one suits a bedroom, study, or any room kept deliberately restrained. Agate is commonly placed in spaces used daily rather than reserved for occasional practice, and a specimen of this size holds a shelf or side table comfortably while remaining easy to reposition when a room is rearranged.

Geological Information
Banded Agate is silicon dioxide in its microcrystalline chalcedony form, Mohs 7, trigonal. It forms where silica-rich hydrothermal fluids repeatedly enter a cavity in host rock and deposit in successive layers, each recording a separate event in the sequence. Where the chemistry of consecutive influxes was similar, the resulting bands grade into one another rather than meeting at sharp boundaries, which produces the softened, diffuse layering visible across this piece. The unclosed pocket at the centre marks the point at which deposition stopped before the void was entirely filled. Agate is a banded variety of chalcedony within the quartz family, formed through successive layers of silica deposited within a cavity over time. It is common industry practice for coloured agate to be dyed or otherwise colour-enhanced to achieve vivid, saturated tones. Agate has been worked continuously since antiquity and takes its name from the Achates River in Sicily. It is one of the most widely distributed minerals on Earth, recovered from Brazil, India, the USA, Mexico and Germany; this piece is Brazilian.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
