Caribbean Calcite is a combination stone (Mohs 3, trigonal) consisting of blue calcite together with white to brown aragonite occurring in a single matrix, with the blue colour arising from trace copper or iron. Despite the name, it has no connection to the Caribbean; the trade designation references the blue-teal resemblance to Caribbean water. It is untreated natural material. It was discovered relatively recently, entering the international crystal market around 2019 and quickly becoming one of the most popular new introductions. It is found exclusively in Pakistan, the sole known commercial source.
