Product Description

This Carnelian Tumbled Stone is a polished chalcedony piece in warm orange to red-orange, ranging from soft peach through to deep blood-orange. The colour often shows a cloudy, layered distribution when held to the light, and the polish gives it a glassy, glowing finish. Smooth and palm-sized, the Carnelian is a bright, warm stone in the hand.

Carnelian is traditionally associated with creativity, self-expression, and confidence, long carried as a motivating, energising stone. People commonly keep it on a desk, hold it before creative or public work, or carry it as a daily confidence piece. Its long history as a talisman and seal stone gives the Carnelian a strong, grounded reputation.

Every Carnelian piece is natural and individual, varying in tone, banding, and translucency from the example shown.

Geological Information
Carnelian is a chalcedony variety of quartz, silicon dioxide, with a Mohs hardness of 7. Its orange to red-orange colour comes from iron oxide impurities and ranges from pale peach to deep blood-orange. Heat treatment is common and standard practice in commercial Carnelian: natural material tends toward a browner orange, and heating produces the vivid red-orange the stone is known for. Carnelian shows a cloudy colour distribution when held to the light, whereas dyed agate sold as carnelian shows colour concentrated along bands. One of the oldest continuously used gemstones, it was chosen for seals because wax will not stick to it, and it appears in ancient Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Greek, and Roman work, including in Tutankhamun's tomb. Sources include Brazil, India, Madagascar, Uruguay, and Germany.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
