Amethyst Chevron Cauldron Carving - 1.0 inch

A miniature Chevron Amethyst cauldron with banded purple and white layers
$19.95

Product Description

Amethyst Chevron Cauldron Carving is shaped into a miniature three-legged cauldron, polished to show the stone's distinctive V-shaped banding of deep purple amethyst alternating with clear white quartz. The rounded body, footed base, and open mouth give it a recognisable cauldron silhouette in miniature, with the chevron pattern wrapping naturally around the curved surface. The open bowl can also be used to hold a small piece of resin or a mini charcoal tablet for occasional incense use, alongside its role as a display piece. At 1 inch, it suits a shelf, altar, or display arrangement alongside other carved miniatures.

Amethyst is carried for intuition and spiritual awareness, and for protection and grounding, with the chevron variety adding the visual interest of its banded purple and white layers. The cauldron form itself carries ritual associations, making this carving a natural fit for an altar display or a transformation-themed crystal grid.

Geological Information
Chevron Amethyst is a banded variety of amethyst quartz, silicon dioxide with iron impurities, Mohs hardness 7. It forms when purple iron-bearing quartz and white quartz crystallise in alternating V-shaped bands during hydrothermal growth, with the chevron pattern caused by oscillating iron availability in the silica-bearing fluid as the crystal formed. The result is a stone showing both the full purple of standard amethyst and the clarity of white quartz in distinct geometric layers. Amethyst shares one of the most consistently documented gemstone traditions across Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and Christian history, and the chevron banding occurs naturally within the same amethyst deposits. Primary sources include Brazil, India, Madagascar, and Namibia.
