Blue Aventurine Heart - 2.25 inch

Dumortierite platelets doing the work of both colour and shimmer
$19.95

Product Description

The Blue Aventurine Heart is a deep grey-blue stone with a fine metallic glitter that surfaces at certain angles and vanishes at others. The blue is muted and slate-toned rather than vivid, with paler mottling drifting through the body. The polish is high and smooth, and this is a substantial Heart, broad across the lobes and heavy in the hand. Depth of colour and strength of the shimmer vary from piece to piece.

Blue Aventurine is traditionally associated with calm and stress relief, carrying a quieter reputation than its green counterpart and one linked to composure rather than luck. A secondary association with clarity and focus gives it a place around considered speech and thinking, which is why it is often kept where conversations or decisions happen. The size makes it a display piece, and the shimmer rewards a spot where light reaches it directly.

Geological Information
Blue Aventurine is a quartz, silicon dioxide at Mohs 7 in the trigonal system, carrying dumortierite inclusions. Those inclusions are flat platelet crystals, and light reflecting from them produces both the blue to grey-blue body colour and the metallic glittering effect known as aventurescence that characterises every aventurine variety. That shimmer is the reliable way to distinguish it from Blue Calcite and Blue Chalcedony, neither of which shows it, and it is also considerably harder than blue calcite at Mohs 7 against 3. The material is natural and requires no treatment. It shares the broader aventurine tradition used extensively in Chinese and Tibetan carving. India is the primary commercial source, with additional material from Chile.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
