Product Description

The Plume Agate Sphere is a fully polished orb of translucent agate threaded with soft, feathery plume inclusions in cream, tan, brown and grey. The plumes seem to drift through the stone like smoke or foliage, shifting as the Sphere is turned, and the high polish gives it a smooth, even surface that sits neatly in the palm or on a small stand.

Agate is traditionally associated with balance, steadiness and grounding, and is one of the oldest stones in recorded human use; plume varieties are especially prized for their painterly inclusions. People keep a Sphere like this on a desk or shelf, hold it during reflection, or add it to a collection of patterned stones. The sphere form is favoured for radiating its associations evenly in all directions.

As a natural stone, the shape and spread of the plume inclusions differ from one Sphere to the next, so the piece you receive will be entirely its own.

Geological Information
Plume Agate is a variety of chalcedony within the quartz family, a silicon dioxide that forms in the trigonal system at a Mohs hardness of 7. Its distinctive feature is the feathery, plume-like mineral inclusions that grow within the translucent agate as it forms, produced by trace minerals crystallising in branching, foliage-like patterns suspended in the silica. Agate is among the oldest documented gemstones in human use, named by the Greek philosopher Theophrastus after the Achates River in Sicily. This material is sourced from Indonesia and the United States, with agate found widely worldwide.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
