Fossil Crinoids Tumbled Stone - 15-30 mm

Ancient marine fossil stone for deep grounding and continuity
$4.95

Product Description

Fossil Crinoid Tumbled Stone, a smooth polished piece of grey to dark sedimentary stone showing the pale fossilised remains of ancient crinoids, the sea lilies, set in the matrix. Each stone is tumbled to a rounded shape and a polish that reveals the fossil structures. It sits comfortably in the hand or pocket.

Fossil Crinoid is traditionally associated with deep grounding, ancestral connection and continuity, and is commonly used as a steadying, anchoring stone. People often hold it during reflection, keep it close for a sense of grounded continuity, or display it for its fossil interest. The preserved marine forms make each piece a small snapshot of prehistoric life.

Each Fossil Crinoid Tumbled Stone is natural, so the visible fossil structures and matrix colour vary from one piece to the next.

Geological Information
Fossil Crinoid is the fossilized remains of crinoids, ancient marine animals known as sea lilies, preserved in a carbonate-rich sedimentary matrix at a soft Mohs 3 to 4. Crinoids anchored to the sea floor and fed through feathery arms; their segmented stems and skeletal parts, made of calcium carbonate, were buried and mineralized over time, leaving the pale circular and stem-like structures seen in the stone. These fossils formed hundreds of millions of years ago, so each piece is a small record of prehistoric marine life. As a carbonate fossil it is soft and acid-sensitive, closer in durability to limestone than to quartz. The material is sourced from the United States.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.

Care Note
Fossil Crinoid is soft at Mohs 3 to 4 and scratches easily, so store it apart from harder stones and handle it gently. The carbonate matrix is acid-sensitive, so keep it away from household cleaners, perfume and prolonged water exposure.
