Dalmatian Jasper is an igneous rock of feldspar and quartz dotted with black tourmaline, at Mohs 6 to 7. Despite the name it is not a true jasper; the dark spots are tourmaline inclusions within the lighter matrix. The material is sourced mainly from Mexico.
