Dendritic Opal Tumbled Stone - 15-45 mm

Branching dendrites on a pale body for quiet balance
$3.95
Portion

Product Description

Dendritic Opal Tumbled Stones, in this Grade A material, show a white-to-cream body crossed by black or brown branching dendritic inclusions, polished so the fine tree-like patterns stay clearly visible. The dendrites spread across each piece like delicate winter branches against the pale base. At this size the stones are smooth and easy to hold while the internal patterns read clearly.

Dendritic Opal is traditionally associated with quiet reflection and a grounded, natural balance, and is often chosen by people drawn to its connection with natural patterns and gradual change. It is commonly carried, kept on a desk or windowsill, or held in reflection. The branching markings also make it a quietly striking display stone.

Because the dendrites form uniquely in each stone, no two pieces share the same branching pattern.

Geological Information
Dendritic Opal is a common opal, hydrated silica without the play of colour of precious opal, amorphous and softer than crystalline quartz at a Mohs hardness of 5.5 to 6.5. Its white-to-cream body carries black or brown dendritic inclusions formed where manganese oxide crystallized in branching, tree-like patterns through the silica gel during formation. Despite their organic appearance, these dendrites are inorganic mineral formations rather than fossils, a common point of confusion worth clarifying. It is related in appearance to dendritic agate and carries similar associations with nature and natural patterns. While Turkey is the primary commercial source, this material is supplier-noted as sourced from Australia, with further deposits in the USA and Ethiopia.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.

Care Note
Dendritic Opal is relatively soft at Mohs 5.5 to 6.5. Avoid hard knocks and prolonged heat or dryness, and store it apart from harder stones.
