Dragon Blood Jasper Hearts - 1 inch

Green epidote and red piemontite, sold under a name for neither
$4.95

Product Description

The Dragon Blood Jasper Heart is a deep forest green stone marked with vivid red patches and spotting scattered across the surface in no fixed pattern. The contrast between the two is sharp and reads clearly even at this small size, with some pieces carrying heavy red coverage and others only a few flecks. The polish is high and smooth, and the Heart sits easily between two fingers. Distribution of the red varies entirely from piece to piece.

Dragon Blood Jasper is traditionally associated with confidence and ambition, and its reputation draws heavily on the visual drama of the red-on-green contrast. A secondary association with energy and vitality reinforces that active reading. Practitioners commonly carry a piece, keep one where it will be picked up and turned over, or give them as tokens. The colour contrast is most of the appeal, and it holds up well at small sizes where subtler stones lose their character.

Geological Information
Dragon Blood Jasper, also sold as Dragon Bloodstone, is not a jasper at all despite the trade name. Jasper is a silicon dioxide material, whereas this is a composite metamorphic rock of green epidote carrying red piemontite inclusions, with a Mohs hardness of 6 to 7. The green comes from the epidote content and the red from piemontite or iron oxide, and the alternating pattern between them produces the scale-like effect the name references. The material is natural and requires no treatment. It has no documented ancient tradition, having emerged from South African mining as a late twentieth-century commercial discovery, and the name is a modern marketing designation with no historical basis. Sources are South Africa and Australia.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
