Ethereal Visions Tarot: Luna Edition

Ethereal Visions Luna Edition is drawn and coloured entirely by hand by Matt Hughes, working in the art nouveau idiom of flowing line, ornamental border and flattened decorative space. This edition revises the artwork of the original with an eye to greater diversity among the figures, and every image is illuminated with iridescent silver foil stamping that shifts as the card is turned under light. An expanded full-colour guidebook accompanies the deck.

Hughes added two cards to the traditional Major Arcana rather than only redrawing it, so the deck's structure runs slightly wider than a standard reading expects and the extra pair have to be integrated rather than set aside. The foil work is the reason to own this edition specifically: it catches the light in a way flat printing cannot, which makes a spread genuinely worth looking at across a table and turns a reading into something closer to handling illuminated pages. It suits a reader who cares about the deck as an object and is willing to accommodate a Major Arcana that is not the usual twenty-two.
