Product Description

Garnet in Biotite Tumbled Stones present a dark, lustrous body of biotite mica studded with rounded deep-red garnet crystals, polished so the garnets sit like embedded beads in the darker matrix. The mica gives a subtle metallic sheen as the stone turns, while the garnet zones read a deeper wine-red. At this size the stones are solid and weighty in the hand.

Garnet in Biotite is traditionally associated with grounded vitality, drawing on garnet's connection to energy and drive alongside the steadying character of the biotite matrix. It is often chosen by people who want a sense of momentum that stays rooted, and is commonly carried, held during intention-setting, or kept in a workspace. The strong contrast also makes it an interesting specimen to display.

Each stone differs in the size and scatter of its garnet crystals against the mica, so no two are alike.

Geological Information
Garnet in Biotite is a combination rock in which red almandine-type garnet crystals have grown as porphyroblasts within a biotite mica schist matrix during metamorphism. The garnet is hard at around Mohs 6.5 to 7.5, while the dark biotite mica that surrounds it is much softer, near Mohs 2.5 to 3, giving the stone a wide effective hardness range. The garnets form as rounded crystals as the surrounding minerals recrystallize under heat and pressure, and the biotite provides the sheen and dark colour. Garnet has been used as a gem and talisman across many cultures and is the traditional birthstone for January. This particular combination is not yet catalogued in our reference database and is described here from supplier data and accepted geology. This material is sourced from India.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.

Care Note
The biotite mica matrix is soft and can flake or show wear along its layers. Handle gently and store apart from harder stones.
