Goldstone Worry Stone - 2 inch
Product Description
Goldstone Worry Stone cut to a smooth oval with a thumb hollow, the reddish-brown base dense with fine copper sparkle that shifts as the stone is turned. The material takes a glass-smooth polish, and the sparkle reads as embedded points of light rather than a surface shimmer. At this size the piece sits comfortably in one hand.
Goldstone is traditionally associated with confidence and forward momentum, and people often choose it specifically for its visual presence rather than for any correspondence system. It is commonly carried during a demanding stretch, held while working toward a goal, or kept somewhere it will catch direct light. Its striking appearance is a large part of the appeal.

Geological Information
Goldstone is a man-made glass rather than a naturally occurring mineral, produced by dissolving copper oxide into molten silica glass and cooling it in a controlled low-oxygen environment, at Mohs 5.5 to 6. The sparkle is produced by octahedral copper crystals that form during the cooling process and reflect light, distinct from the included mineral platelets that produce aventurescence in natural aventurine. The process originated in seventeenth century Venice, traditionally attributed to the Miotti family of Murano glassmakers, and production has since moved primarily to China. This piece is man-made and is disclosed as such.
