Iolite Tumbled Stone - 20-30 mm
Product Description
Iolite Tumbled Stones are deep blue to violet-blue pieces that shift in colour as they turn, a result of the stone's strong pleochroism. Viewed from different angles, the same stone can read blue-violet, grey-blue, or nearly colourless. The polish deepens the blue, and each piece carries its own play of colour. These are smooth, pocketable tumbles.
Iolite is traditionally associated with intuition, spiritual awareness, and clear focus. It is commonly carried as a stone of insight and inner navigation, held in meditation, or kept close during periods of decision-making. Its colour-shifting character and documented history make it a favourite among those drawn to blue stones.
The depth of blue and the strength of the colour shift vary from stone to stone, so each piece is individual in how it catches and changes the light.

Geological Information
Iolite is the gem variety of the mineral cordierite, a magnesium aluminium silicate (Mohs 7-7.5, orthorhombic), and one of the most strongly pleochroic minerals known, showing blue-violet, yellow-grey, and nearly colourless along different crystal axes. Its name derives from the Greek ios, meaning violet. It is untreated natural material. Its pleochroism gave it a well-documented historical use as a solar compass by Viking navigators, functioning as a polarising filter to locate the sun on overcast days, a genuine and measurable property. It is sourced from India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Brazil, Norway, and Greenland.
AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
