labradorite-worry-stones
Labradorite Worry Stone - 1.5 inch

Labradorite Worry Stone cut to a smooth oval with a thumb hollow across one face. At rest the stone reads as a plain dark grey, almost unremarkable, and then at the right angle a broad flash of blue, green or gold sweeps across the whole face and vanishes as the piece turns. Each stone flashes in a different hue and at a different angle, so no two catch the light the same way.

Labradorite is traditionally associated with intuition and with change already underway, and it is one of the few stones whose appeal is as much about motion as appearance. It is commonly carried and turned repeatedly through the day, which suits the Form exactly, or kept where a moving light source will catch it. The flash is genuinely difficult to photograph, so most pieces exceed what the images promise.

Key Properties
Primary Focus: Intuition & Spiritual Awareness
Secondary Focus: Transformation & Growth
Chakra Association: Third Eye, Crown
Zodiac Sign: Leo, Scorpio
Chinese Zodiac: Dragon, Snake
Ruling Planet: Uranus
Elements: Water, Air
Mohs Hardness: 6-6.5
Stone Family: Tectosilicate
Material: Labradorite
Form: Worry Stone
Finish: Polished
Approximate Size: 40 mm (1.6 inches)
Approximate Weight: 17-22 g
Listing: Single unit

Geological Information
Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar crystallising in the triclinic system at Mohs 6 to 6.5, with a grey to dark grey base carrying the spectral iridescence the stone is bought for. That effect, called labradorescence, is caused by light interference between thin lamellar layers within the feldspar structure rather than by any pigment, which is why it appears only at particular viewing angles and shifts as the stone moves. Blues and greens are most common, with golds, oranges and rarely red and violet appearing in finer material. Rainbow Moonstone is a trade name for white labradorite, a variety with a white base rather than grey; it is labradorite and not moonstone, and should be identified accurately. Spectrolite is the name given to high-grade Finnish material. The stone was described by Europeans in Labrador, Canada in 1770 and named for it, though the Inuit of Labrador had known and used it for centuries; their tradition holds that the Northern Lights were once trapped in the coastal rocks until a warrior struck them and freed most of the light, leaving the remainder inside the stone. Commercial material comes from Canada, Madagascar, Finland, Russia and Mexico.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity.
