Red and White Moonstone is an orthoclase feldspar at Mohs 6 to 6.5, in which natural iron oxide inclusions create patches of red-orange colour within the white feldspar body. The adularescent sheen may be present or reduced from piece to piece depending on the iron content, and the red-orange colour is entirely natural rather than a dye or treatment.
