Morgan-Greer Tarot Deck

Morgan-Greer Tarot is a full 78-card deck built on the Rider-Waite structure, with borderless cards printed in deep, saturated colour. Removing the border pushes the imagery to the card edge, so scenes and symbolism are viewed close and without framing, and figures are cropped tightly into the frame.

This was the first modern deck built on the combined research of Arthur Edward Waite and Paul Foster Case, with Case's book used as a primer by artist Bill Greer in selecting the colour scheme, the intent being to provoke an emotional response to each card before the image itself is examined. When laid out in a spread the borderless cards abut directly and read as one continuous picture rather than a grid, which suits readers who work with the relationships between positions.
