Each stick carries a warm, dark reddish-brown coating typical of a resin-rich masala blend, and the box itself, decorated in Nandita's signature red and cream henna-style pattern, holds a stack of individually wrapped sticks ready for regular use. Lit and allowed to catch before the flame is gently blown out, the stick smoulders slowly from the tip, releasing its fragrance as a steady curl of smoke.
