This Kiwi Jasper Double-Terminated Point is a small stone shaped to a point at each end, in a mint-green base speckled with black and flecked with paler cream. The green comes from amazonite, scattered with dark tourmaline spots, and the polish brings out the soft translucency of the quartz running through it. Compact and easy to hold or set on a shelf, each point shows the kiwi-fruit-like speckling that gives the stone its name.

Geological Information
Despite its trade name, Kiwi Jasper is not a true jasper but a composite rock of amazonite, black tourmaline, and quartz, with a Mohs hardness of 6 to 7. Its mint-green base comes from amazonite, a feldspar, the black speckles are tourmaline inclusions, and the quartz adds translucency, the overall look recalling kiwi-fruit skin and giving the stone its name. It is a recent discovery, found in the southern regions of New Zealand around 2014 to 2015, with no ancient tradition. Genuine material is natural and undyed, though dyed imitations exist.
