Sphalerite Cube - 2.25-2.5 inch

A weighty, metallic-bright cube for energy, drive, and grounded
$73.95

Product Description

This Sphalerite Cube is a natural, unpolished block with the greyish, metallic-looking faces the mineral forms along its cubic cleavage. Turned in good light, transparent zones can throw off unusually strong flashes of colour, a signature of the material. It is a raw, collector-style specimen rather than a polished decorative piece.

Sphalerite is commonly associated with vitality and grounded energy, and it appeals to collectors as much as to those working with crystals. As a natural Cube it suits a specimen shelf or a mineral display where its rough character is part of the appeal.

This piece is formed from natural Sphalerite and will show unique colour, lustre, and surface character. Sphalerite is soft, so each specimen should be handled with care.

Geological Information
Sphalerite is a zinc sulphide with a Mohs hardness of 3.5 to 4 and a cubic crystal system, coloured yellow, orange, brown, red, or black by its iron content. It has the highest dispersion of any commonly faceted gemstone, producing more fire than diamond when transparent material is cut, though its softness makes faceted gems strictly collector pieces. The name derives from the Greek sphaleros, meaning treacherous, because miners frequently mistook it for galena lead ore. It is a natural material. Origins: Spain, Mexico, the USA, Bulgaria, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.

Care Note
Sphalerite is soft at Mohs 3.5 to 4 and scratches easily, so handle it gently and keep it apart from harder stones to protect its surface.
