Geological Information
Malachite is a copper carbonate hydroxide of the monoclinic system, soft at a Mohs hardness of 3.5 to 4, producing some of the most vivid greens in the mineral world with its concentric banding and swirled eyes formed by successive layers of copper-rich deposition. As a copper mineral its dust is hazardous and it is not suitable for water elixirs, though polished specimens like these are safe for normal display and handling. This upright, tapered form is variously referred to as a Tower, an Obelisk, or a Point. Origins: the Democratic Republic of Congo is the classic source, along with Zambia, Russia, and Australia; this material is supplied from South Africa.
AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
Care Note
Malachite is a copper mineral: these polished Towers are safe for normal display and handling, but wash your hands after handling, do not use them to make water elixirs, and never sand or grind them, as the dust is hazardous to inhale. It is also soft at Mohs 3.5 to 4, so handle it gently and keep it away from harder stones.
