Product Description

Snowflake Obsidian tumbled stones are smooth, glassy pieces in deep black, scattered with grey-white snowflake or flower patterns, polished to a bright finish and sold individually or by weight. The size, density, and placement of the snowflake markings vary from stone to stone. The striking black-and-white look suits pocket carry, display, and grounding layouts.

Snowflake Obsidian is traditionally associated with balance, calm reflection, and gentle grounding, pairing obsidian's protective feel with a quieter, more settling quality. It is commonly kept as a steadying, balancing stone, carried during reflective periods, or added to grids focused on harmony and grounding. As a tumbled stone, Snowflake Obsidian is easy to hold, pocket, or set out where its patterning can be seen.

Because this is a natural glass, the snowflake patterning, surface character, size, and weight vary from stone to stone, so the piece you receive will differ from the photographs.

Geological Information
Snowflake Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass of silicon dioxide with a Mohs hardness of 5 to 5.5, formed when silica-rich lava cools too quickly for crystals to grow. Its grey-white snowflake markings are clusters of the mineral cristobalite that crystallised within the black glass, and it is a natural, untreated material. Like all obsidian it breaks with a shell-like conchoidal fracture, and the broader obsidian family has been used for tools and ornament since prehistory. Sources include the United States and Mexico.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.

Care Note
Snowflake Obsidian is a glass (Mohs 5 to 5.5) and can chip or scratch if knocked or stored against harder stones. Handle it gently and keep it apart from harder pieces.
