Black Onyx Tumbled Stone - 15-40 mm
Product Description
Black Onyx Tumbled Stones are deep, solid black pieces polished to a smooth, even finish with a subtle sheen. The colour is uniform and dense, giving each stone a clean, minimal, and elegant look. These are comfortable mid-sized tumbles with a grounded, sleek presence.
Black Onyx is traditionally associated with protection, grounding, and calm steadiness. It is commonly carried as a centring everyday stone, held during meditation focused on stability and boundaries, or kept close as a quiet, protective presence. Its sleek black colouring makes it a versatile stone for carry, gifting, and collection.
Surface sheen and subtle tonal character vary slightly from piece to piece, so each stone is its own.

Geological Information
Onyx is a banded chalcedony variety of quartz (silicon dioxide, Mohs 7, trigonal). Commercial Black Onyx is almost universally produced by dyeing natural grey banded chalcedony to a deep, uniform black, using the sugar-acid or iron nitrate process standardised in the Idar-Oberstein agate trade from the nineteenth century onward; this treatment is stable, permanent, and industry-standard. Onyx has been used since antiquity across Greek, Roman, Mesopotamian, and Egyptian cultures, carved into cameos, intaglios, and amulets, and the black variety has featured in mourning jewellery and protective talismans, making it one of the most continuously used black gemstones in recorded history. It is sourced primarily from Brazil, with material also from India and, historically, Idar-Oberstein, Germany.
AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
