Pink Opal Tumbled Stone - 0.75-1.75 inch

Soft blush opal, flat-tumbled for gentle love and calm
$2.49

Product Description

Pink Opal Tumbled Stones, each polished to a flat, rounded profile rather than the deeper barrel shape most tumbling produces. The colour is a soft chalky pink, sometimes warming toward peach and sometimes cooling toward cream, with paler and darker zones drifting through the body of the larger pieces. The finish is smooth and slightly waxy rather than glassy, and the stones are light in the hand for their size.

Pink Opal is traditionally associated with gentleness toward oneself and with settling after difficulty, and it is one of the softer-spoken pink stones, chosen where rose quartz would feel too obvious. It is commonly carried in a pocket, kept in a bowl with others, or used in grid work where a scatter of small stones is wanted. The size range here is wide, so pieces differ considerably in presence.

Geological Information
Pink Opal is a common opal, hydrated silica combining silicon dioxide with water, amorphous in structure at Mohs 5 to 6. Its pink colour comes not from the silica but from palygorskite, a clay mineral included through the opal matrix, which is unusual: most coloured opals take their tone from trace elements within the silica itself. It is a common rather than precious opal and shows no play of colour. Some pink opal on the market is dyed or resin treated to deepen or stabilise the colour, and where that is known it is disclosed; this material is stated as natural. Opal retains between three and twenty-one percent water by weight, which is unusual among gem materials and has direct consequences for storage. Peru is the primary commercial source, with further material from Australia.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.

Care Note
Opal holds water within its structure and can craze, developing fine surface cracks, if exposed to sudden temperature change or very dry conditions. Keep the piece away from prolonged heat and direct sunlight.
