Opalite Heart - 1 inch
Product Description
The Opalite Heart is a milky white translucent piece that shifts toward pale blue or warm amber depending on the light behind it and the surface beneath it. Held against a dark background it reads cool blue; against light it warms considerably, and that shift is the entire appeal of the material. The polish is high and glassy, and at this size the Hearts are small enough to arrange in numbers or use as tokens. Colour and clarity are consistent across pieces, since the material is manufactured rather than mined.

Geological Information
Opalite is a man-made opalescent glass, manufactured from dolomite and metal compounds, with a Mohs hardness of 5.5 to 6.5. It is not a natural mineral and has no geological origin; it is produced to mimic the visual character of natural opal and moonstone. The shifting play between milky white and pale blue is a diffraction effect produced by the glass structure itself rather than by any inclusion, which is why it changes with light conditions and background colour rather than with viewing angle. Because it is glass at moderate hardness it will scratch or chip against harder materials, so it benefits from gentle handling and storage away from harder stones. There is no historical use behind it; the material has been widely adopted in the crystal and wellness market for its similarity to natural opal. It is manufactured primarily in China.
AuturaSol Standard
Each piece is selected for its quality, beauty, and visual consistency. Where a material is man-made or enhanced, this is clearly disclosed within the product information. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
