Pocket Rider-Waite® Tarot

Pocket Rider-Waite Tarot reduces the standard deck to a genuinely pocketable format without dropping anything from it. Pamela Colman Smith's 1909 drawings, made under the direction of Arthur Edward Waite, are reproduced with the full pictorial scene intact on every card of both arcana. An instruction booklet by Stuart R. Kaplan accompanies the deck with upright and reversed meanings and keywords.

Scaling down changes how the deck gets used more than how it reads. The cards shuffle in one hand and a full spread fits on a small table, a windowsill, or a lap on a train, so the deck goes where a full-size one would not. Because the imagery is the standard set that a century of Tarot writing is keyed to, nothing has to be relearned to move between this and a larger printing, and a reader can keep this one in a bag as the working deck while a bigger edition stays at home.
