The Black Onyx Point is a single upright point with a polished top and a natural base, in a deep, even black, carrying scattered inclusions of brass-gold Pyrite that catch the light against the dark body. Each Black Onyx Point shows a different placement of those metallic flecks, and the polished termination stands cleanly on a desk, shelf or altar while the base is left natural.

Black Onyx is traditionally associated with protection and grounding alongside calm and stress relief, long regarded as a steadying, defensive stone, and the Pyrite inclusions add a note of the abundance and drive Pyrite is known for. Geological Information
Black Onyx is a banded chalcedony of the Quartz family (silicon dioxide, Mohs 7, trigonal system), here carrying natural inclusions of Pyrite, a brass-yellow iron sulphide that forms cubic crystals. Almost all commercial Black Onyx is natural grey or banded chalcedony that has been dyed to a deep, permanent black using the sugar-acid or iron-nitrate process standardised in the Idar-Oberstein agate trade from the 19th century; the treatment is stable and industry-standard, and is disclosed here. Principal source is Brazil, along with India and Germany.
