Prehnite with Rutile is a translucent pale green prehnite, a calcium aluminium silicate at Mohs 6 to 6.5, containing needles of rutile, titanium dioxide, visible through the body of the stone. The pale green is the prehnite's own colour, while the rutile needles create a golden to red metallic shimmer within the translucent green. The combination occurs naturally in South African and Mali deposits, and is untreated. South Africa is the primary commercial source, with further material from Mali and Australia.
