Red Jasper Heart - 1 inch

Iron oxide in silica, carried as a protective token for four thousand years
$3.95

Product Description

The Red Jasper Heart is a deep brick to oxblood red stone, opaque throughout, with some pieces carrying darker mottling or fine grey veining across the surface. The colour is even and matte-toned in body but takes a high glassy polish, so the finish carries most of the shine rather than the stone itself. At this size the Heart sits comfortably between two fingers and is light enough to carry loose. Depth of colour varies from piece to piece, with some running browner and others closer to pure red.

Red Jasper is traditionally associated with protection and grounding, and holds one of the longest continuous records of any stone in that role, worked as seal stones and protective amulets across the ancient world. A secondary association with energy and vitality gives it a steadier, more physical reading than most grounding stones. Practitioners commonly carry a piece rather than display it, and at this size the Hearts function well as tokens or as components in a larger set.

Geological Information
Red Jasper is a chalcedony variety of the quartz family, silicon dioxide with a Mohs hardness of 7. The red comes from hematite, an iron oxide, distributed through the silica matrix, and the depth of colour reflects how much iron is present in a given deposit. It is among the most widely distributed and historically used of all the jaspers. The material is natural and requires no treatment. Red Jasper was worked in ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, and across Europe as a seal stone and protective amulet, and it appears among the twelve stones of the Hebrew High Priest's breastplate. Sources include Brazil, India, Russia, and the USA.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
