Product Description

Star Ruby Tumbled Stone, a polished piece of deep red to purplish-red ruby, dense and opaque with a soft inner glow where the light moves across it. Each stone is tumbled to a rounded shape and a smooth polish. It has a solid, substantial weight in the hand.

Star Ruby is traditionally associated with inner strength, confidence and steady vitality, and is commonly used as an energizing, motivating stone. People often carry it for resilience and drive, keep it close during demanding times, or hold it for a sense of grounded passion. It is a long-prized stone of warriors and royalty.

Each Star Ruby Tumbled Stone is natural, so the depth of red and the way light plays across the surface vary from one piece to the next.

Geological Information
Ruby is the red variety of corundum, aluminium oxide at Mohs 9, the second hardest natural mineral after diamond, with its red colour from chromium; star ruby shows asterism, a floating star formed by light reflecting off oriented needle inclusions. Only chromium-bearing red corundum is a ruby, the same mineral as sapphire differentiated by colour. Heat treatment is near-universal in commercial ruby to improve clarity and colour and is an accepted industry standard, while opaque material such as this is often untreated; man-made ruby and lead-glass-filled material exist and must be disclosed. Ruby is one of the four classical precious gemstones, used in ancient Burma, India, Thailand and China as a talisman of warriors and kings and present in crown jewels worldwide. The finest gem ruby comes from the Mogok Valley of Myanmar, with further sources in Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Mozambique and Madagascar; this material is sourced from India.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
