Selenite Pentacle Mini Candle Holder - 1.5 inch

Light carrying right through the block from one face to the next
$12.95

Product Description

The Selenite Pentacle Candle Holder is a polished Selenite cube with a metal socket recessed into the top, sized for a mini chime candle, and a cast pentacle charm mounted on one face. The stone runs pale white to faintly grey, translucent enough that light entering one face carries visibly through the block, and the striations characteristic of Selenite show as fine parallel lines across the polish. At 35 mm the cube sits squarely without rocking. A candle is not included with this listing.

Selenite is commonly used for clarity and settling the mind, and carries a lunar association through its name, taken from the Greek moon goddess Selene. It's also known for its self-cleansing nature and is commonly used to cleanse other crystals placed nearby. The pentacle is among the oldest protective symbols in continuous use, read by the Pythagoreans as a figure of proportion and harmony and adopted across a range of later traditions.

Geological Information
Selenite is a crystalline variety of gypsum, composed of hydrous calcium sulphate, monoclinic in structure and rating 2-2.5 on the Mohs scale, which makes it soft enough to scratch with a fingernail. It forms in sedimentary environments where mineral-rich waters evaporate and deposit fibrous layers that solidify into translucent masses. The fine striations and silky lustre both derive from that fibrous structure. The name comes from Selene, the Greek moon goddess, referencing the stone's soft white luminosity. High-quality Selenite is primarily sourced from Morocco, with additional deposits in Mexico, the USA, Poland, and Australia.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.

Care Note
Selenite is water-soluble and prolonged water contact will permanently damage the surface, so keep the cube dry and never cleanse it in water. At Mohs 2-2.5 the stone is very soft and scratches readily. Seat the mini chime candle fully in the metal socket. Place the holder on a heat-resistant, stable surface away from drafts and flammable materials, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
