Super 7, also known as Sacred Seven or Melody Stone, is a quartz-family material, silicon dioxide with a Mohs hardness of 7, distinguished by containing seven minerals in a single specimen: amethyst, smoky quartz, clear quartz, cacoxenite, rutile, goethite, and lepidocrocite. The amethyst, smoky, and clear quartz form the body, while the iron-bearing inclusions appear as reddish-gold threads and patches. It was named and popularised by the crystal author Melody in the late twentieth century and has no deeper historical tradition under this name. Genuine Super 7 comes from a specific locality in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
