Smoky Quartz Heart - 1.75-2.5 inch
Product Description
The Smoky Quartz Heart is a translucent stone with light passing well into the body and out again at the thinner edges, so the depth of tone shifts depending on how it is held. Internal veils and fractures catch the light in some pieces and are absent in others. The polish is high and glassy, and the Heart fills a palm with a solid, cool weight. Depth of colour varies substantially from piece to piece.
Smoky Quartz is traditionally associated with protection and grounding, and holds a well-established reputation as a stone for absorbing rather than deflecting, commonly placed at the edges of a space rather than at its centre. A secondary association with calm and stress relief gives it a quieter register than most protective stones. The size makes these display pieces first, and the translucency rewards a spot where light can reach them.

Geological Information
Smoky Quartz is silicon dioxide of the trigonal system with a Mohs hardness of 7. Its brown to black colouration is produced when natural background radiation irradiates aluminium impurities held within the quartz structure over geological time, a slow process that makes the colour a record of the stone's exposure history. Colour enhancement by artificial irradiation is practiced in the trade, and very dark near-black material from Brazil is sometimes irradiated to deepen it. Heating can lighten the colour in the other direction. Cairngorm is the Scottish variety, deeply embedded in Highland culture through centuries of use in sgian-dubh handles, brooches, and national costume, and it commands premium provenance pricing; Morion is the near-black variety. Sources include Brazil, Scotland, the USA, Switzerland, and Madagascar.
AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
