The Scolecite on Stilbite Specimen is a large natural cluster in which fine white Scolecite sprays rise from a base of soft Stilbite. The Scolecite forms delicate, radiating needle-like crystals that fan outward in bright white, set against the warmer, blockier Stilbite beneath, and the whole specimen is shown in its untouched grown form with real size and presence.

Scolecite and Stilbite are both traditionally associated with calm, stillness and restful sleep, and are commonly chosen for bedrooms, meditation spaces and quiet corners. Geological Information
Scolecite and Stilbite are both zeolite minerals that form together in the cavities of basaltic rock, here in the Deccan Trap basalts of India's Pune district, the primary commercial source for both. Scolecite is a calcium aluminium silicate, crystallising in the monoclinic system at a Mohs hardness of 5 to 5.5, that forms delicate thin prismatic crystals in radiating sprays and fans; its name comes from the Greek skolex, meaning worm, a reference to its tendency to curl when heated. Stilbite is a sodium calcium aluminium silicate, also monoclinic, at a softer Mohs 3.5 to 4, forming its characteristic bow-tie or sheaf-shaped aggregates. The two are commonly found together on matrix, often with apophyllite, producing exceptional display specimens. Both are sourced primarily from the Indian Deccan Trap.
