The 100% Plastic Rider Tarot Deck®
Product Description
The 100% Plastic Rider Tarot prints Pamela Colman Smith's 1909 designs, made under the direction of Arthur Edward Waite, onto solid plastic rather than card stock. The cards resist bending and creasing, wipe clean, shuffle without the drag paper develops, and outlast a standard printed deck by a wide margin under daily handling. An instruction booklet with a foreword by Stuart R. Kaplan accompanies the deck.
Durability is the whole proposition here, and it changes which readers this deck is for. A deck used professionally, carried in a bag, handled by clients, or read outdoors takes damage that a shelf deck never sees, and soft corners and creased edges eventually make a deck unreadable in both senses. Plastic removes that failure mode entirely. Because this is the authorized edition of the standard imagery, nothing is traded away for the material: a reader gets the deck a century of Tarot writing is keyed to, in a form that will survive being genuinely used.
