The Dragon Tingsha pairs two hand-finished cymbals on a joining strap, each face embossed with a coiling dragon motif in the traditional Tibetan style. Struck edge to edge or tapped with a striker, the pair produces a single bright, penetrating chime that hangs in the air with a long, slowly fading sustain, which is why Tingsha are used to mark the opening and closing of meditation, to clear a room before practice, and to call attention gently in sound work. The weighty, hand-filling cymbals reward a slow, deliberate strike.
