Unakite is a metamorphic rock composed of pink orthoclase feldspar, clear quartz, and green epidote (Mohs 6-7) — the pink and green colouring comes directly from these two minerals occurring in consistent proportion. It's named after the Unaka Mountains of North Carolina, where it was first identified, and is frequently sold in the trade as "Unakite Jasper," though it's technically a granite-based metamorphic rock rather than a true jasper.
