Product Description

Afghanite Tumbled Stones are deep blue to blue-violet pieces, often flecked with white calcite and golden pyrite from the surrounding rock. The rich blue is the draw, and its intensity varies across the batch, with each stone carrying its own mix of blue and the accompanying minerals. These are smooth, pocketable tumbles prized by collectors.

Afghanite is traditionally associated with intuition, spiritual awareness, and calm clarity. It is commonly held during meditation, kept close as a stone of quiet insight, or added to a collection for its genuine rarity. Its striking blue and scarce origin make it a sought-after piece among enthusiasts.

The depth of blue and the presence of white and golden flecks vary from stone to stone, so each piece is individual and will differ from the photograph.

Geological Information
Afghanite is a rare sodalite-group tectosilicate (Mohs 5.5-6, hexagonal), blue to blue-violet from its mineral structure, and one of the rarer blue sodalite-group minerals. It is untreated natural material. It forms in contact metamorphic environments alongside lapis lazuli, calcite, and pyrite, and is found almost exclusively in the Sar-e-Sang lapis lazuli deposits of Badakhshan, Afghanistan. Identified and named as a mineral species in 1968, it occurs within a region mined for lapis lazuli for over 6,000 years, and lapidary-quality material is uncommon enough to command collector pricing. Its source is Afghanistan.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.

Care Note
Afghanite is a moderately soft stone (Mohs 5.5-6), so store it apart from harder stones and handle it gently to protect the polish.
