Leopard Skin Jasper Tumbled Stone - 15-30 mm

Spotted orbicular stone for grounding and steadiness
$2.95
Portion

Product Description

Leopard Skin Jasper Tumbled Stones show a cream-to-tan body marked with circular brown and black spots, the orbicular pattern that gives the stone its leopard-like look. Polished smooth, the rings and spots vary in size and density across each piece. At this size the stones sit easily in the hand and the spotted pattern is clear and characterful.

Leopard Skin Jasper is traditionally associated with grounding and a steady connection to the natural world, and is often chosen by people who want a calm, rooted presence for daily life. It is commonly carried, set in a workspace, or held during reflection. The bold spotting also makes it a recognizable and popular display stone.

Because the orbicular spots form individually as the rock cools, every Leopard Skin Jasper stone shows a unique distribution of markings.

Geological Information
Leopard Skin Jasper is an orbicular igneous rock, typically a rhyolite, with a Mohs hardness of 6 to 7, and is technically not a true silica jasper despite the trade name. Its cream-to-tan base carries circular brown and black orbicular inclusions formed where crystal aggregates of feldspar or iron oxide grew radially from nucleation points as the lava cooled, creating the spotted leopard pattern. Each piece shows a unique spot size and distribution. It is also known as Leopardite, and the spotted pattern is immediately recognizable and consistently popular, while the natural radial-growth explanation adds genuine interest. There is no distinct ancient tradition under this name, though orbicular igneous rocks have been collected and worked decoratively across many cultures. This material is sourced primarily from Mexico, with further deposits in the USA, Australia and Africa.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
