Product Description

White Howlite Worry Stone cut to a smooth oval with a thumb hollow across one face. The body is a chalky opaque white, crossed by fine grey to charcoal veining that runs in irregular branching lines and pools into denser patches on some pieces. The polish is smooth but soft rather than glassy, and the stone is noticeably light in the hand, closer to porcelain than to a quartz of the same size.

Howlite is traditionally reached for around sleep and around a mind that will not quiet, and it is one of the most commonly recommended stones for people who lie awake. It is usually kept on a bedside table or held during breathing practice rather than carried through the day. The plain white and grey suits that use, since there is nothing visually demanding about it.

Geological Information
Howlite is a calcium borosilicate crystallising in the monoclinic system at Mohs 3.5, forming as irregular nodules with the chalky white body and grey veining that characterise the natural material. It was named after the Canadian mineralogist Henry How, who first described it in 1868, and it carries no ancient tradition. Its low hardness combines with an absorbent surface to make it take dye more readily than almost any other stone in commercial circulation, and it is consequently the standard simulant for turquoise, lapis lazuli and several other materials. Dyed howlite must always be disclosed as such, and blue howlite presented as turquoise is a significant misrepresentation rather than a permissible trade convention. This piece is natural undyed material, white with grey veining as the mineral occurs. California in the USA is the primary source, with further material from Canada.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding. Howlite is porous and can absorb oils, lotions, and perfumes over time, which may gradually change its colour or surface.
