Geological Information
Realgar is an arsenic sulphide mineral (As4S4) crystallising in the monoclinic system at a Mohs hardness of 1.5 to 2, which makes it one of the softest commonly displayed minerals. It produces an exceptionally vivid red to orange-red colour directly from its arsenic sulphide composition, and it is unstable in light and air, with prolonged exposure causing it to break down into yellow arsenolite powder. It was historically used as a vermilion red pigment and in Chinese medicine despite its toxicity, and it featured in the traditional Chinese dragon's blood wine. This tower form is also sold as an Obelisk or a Point, all describing the same faceted, single-terminated cut. Principal sources include China, Romania, Nevada in the United States, and Macedonia.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.

Care Note
Realgar is an arsenic-bearing mineral and is toxic. Handle it as little as possible, always wash your hands after contact, and keep it away from children and pets. Do not use it in water, elixirs, or any preparation intended for contact or consumption. It is also light-sensitive: prolonged light exposure causes it to break down into a hazardous powder, so keep it in dark, dry storage and display it out of direct light. It is a soft display specimen only, at Mohs 1.5 to 2.
