Polychrome Jasper Heart - 2.25-2.5 inch

Five colours meeting at hard edges, never in the same arrangement twice
$13.95

Product Description

The Polychrome Jasper Heart carries bold zones of deep red, cream, olive, grey, and warm brown meeting in strong contrast across the polished faces. The colour boundaries are sharp rather than blended, and because the material varies so widely, some pieces read almost single-toned while others carry four or five colours at once. The polish is glassy and even. At this size the Heart fills a palm properly and reads well from a distance, which the smaller pieces in the same material do not.

Polychrome Jasper is traditionally associated with energy and vitality, one of the more active readings in the jasper family and consistent with the intensity of the colouring. A secondary association with balance and harmony steadies that into something sustained rather than sudden. At display size the pattern is the main draw, and Hearts in this material are frequently given as gifts precisely because the colouring makes each one visibly individual.

Geological Information
Polychrome Jasper is a chalcedony of the quartz family, silicon dioxide with a Mohs hardness of 7. Its bold multicolour banding, running through vivid reds, browns, creams, greys, and greens, comes from iron oxide content and mineral variation through the deposit, and the strong contrast between adjacent zones is entirely natural. The name is a trade designation rather than a mineralogical one, applied to boldly coloured material found in Madagascar in the early 2000s during exploration for Ocean Jasper. The same source material also reaches the market as Desert Jasper and Royal Savannah Jasper; Desert Jasper denotes the quieter, muted sandy palette from the same deposit and is treated as a separate listing, geologically identical but visually distinct. The material is natural and requires no treatment. There is no ancient tradition attached to it given the recent discovery. Madagascar is the source.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding.
