Angelite Worry Stone - 1.5-1.75 inch

Celestite, pressed flat by a few million years
$15.95

Product Description

Angelite Worry Stone cut to an oval with a thumb hollow across one face. The colour is a soft blue to blue-grey, chalky rather than glassy, with paler mottling and occasional white zones running through the body. The surface takes a smooth low-lustre polish rather than a bright one, and the stone is light and warms quickly against the skin.

Angelite is traditionally associated with calm and with quiet reflection, and it is one of the more subdued stones in the blue range, chosen where sodalite or lapis would be too assertive. The indentation sits comfortably beneath the thumb, which suits it to grounding touch through a long day. It is generally kept somewhere it will be reached for rather than displayed.

Geological Information
Angelite is a calcium sulfate of the anhydrite family, crystallising in the orthorhombic system at Mohs 3.5, and its pale blue to blue-grey colour comes from manganese and other trace impurities. It forms from celestite compressed over millions of years, and that relationship between the two minerals is genuine rather than a marketing connection, which is why angelite is sometimes called blue anhydrite in mineralogical contexts. It occurs in massive habit rather than as distinct crystals. The material is soft and, importantly, water-soluble, which places real constraints on how it is kept. There is no deep historical tradition behind it; angelite is primarily a late twentieth century entrant to the metaphysical market. Peru is the primary source, with further material from Germany, Poland, Libya and Mexico.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding. Angelite is water-soluble and can be permanently damaged by prolonged water exposure. Store away from humidity and avoid contact with water.
