Pyrite with Black Magnetite Worry Stone - 1.5 inch

Brass gold pyrite paired with black magnetite in a smooth oval worry stone for grounding and stress relief
$8.95

Product Description

Pyrite with Black Magnetite Worry Stone cut to a compact oval with a thumb hollow across one face. Brassy gold pyrite sits embedded through a black magnetite matrix, the two metals meeting in irregular veins and patches, and both take a bright metallic polish so the whole surface reflects rather than absorbs light. The stone is dense and cold, running heavier than a silicate of the same size because both minerals are iron-bearing.

Pyrite is traditionally associated with abundance and with confidence, while magnetite carries a much older association with direction and orientation. The two together are commonly carried through periods of effort, kept where work happens, or chosen by people drawn to metallic stones over crystalline ones. The contrast between gold and black is the immediate appeal.

Geological Information
Pyrite with Black Magnetite is a naturally occurring combination of iron sulphide and iron oxide, with pyrite crystallising in the cubic system at Mohs 6 to 6.5 within a magnetite matrix. The two form together in hydrothermal ore deposits, overlapping geological environments producing both minerals in the same rock, and the gold-against-black contrast is a genuine mineral boundary rather than any inclusion or treatment. The magnetite component is magnetic and pieces may attract small iron particles. Both minerals carry long histories of practical use: pyrite has been struck for fire since antiquity, giving it its name from the Greek pyr, and magnetite was the original compass mineral, the lodestone by which early navigation was done. Peru is the primary source, with further material from Spain and the USA.

AuturaSol Standard
Each natural stone is selected for its authenticity, geological integrity, and energetic clarity. Natural variations in colour, structure, inclusions, and surface features are inherent to geological materials and contribute to the individuality of each piece. Any known treatments, enhancements, stabilization, or man-made characteristics are clearly disclosed within the product information where applicable. Every piece is inspected and photographed to reflect its true character; however, lighting conditions, screen settings, and natural variation may cause slight differences in appearance. If you have any questions about a piece before completing your purchase, we're always here to help. Where authenticity meets beauty, we tell you exactly what you're holding. Pyrite can tarnish with exposure to moisture and humidity. Store in a dry place and remove before bathing or swimming.
