The Carved Soapstone Oil Diffuser is a handcrafted natural stone piece with detailed carving work through its body, built around a tealight holder below and a shallow top plate for essential oils above. As the tealight warms the plate, the oil gently releases its fragrance, and the carved openings let the candlelight flicker through the stone.

This is the traditional, unpowered way to diffuse oils, suited to meditation spaces, yoga rooms, or evening wind-downs where a soft flame adds as much to the atmosphere as the scent does. Each piece is individually hand-carved, so the pattern and character vary naturally from one to the next.

Geological Information
Soapstone is a talc-schist metamorphic rock composed primarily of talc with chlorite, micas, and other minerals, rating just 1 to 2.5 on the Mohs scale. That high talc content is what makes it so readily carvable and gives the polished surface its characteristic smooth, soapy feel, the source of its name. Soapstone is naturally heat-resistant, which is why it has been used for cookware, oil burners, and mortars across many cultures for centuries, and it remains a staple of modern carving traditions in India and East Africa. Its colour ranges from grey and green to brown or white depending on mineral composition and locality. Primary sources include Brazil, India, China, Canada, Zimbabwe, and Kenya.
